It needs more colour. So I want to bring my art and expression into this place. I love the freedom of watercolour, its drive for imperfection and forceful self expression.
Looking around me, I see people, and how they move so beautifully, and contain so much unique life and depth and emotion. I want to capture that.
So welcome to my lab: I experiment here, and I thank you for paying closer attention.
I am a self-taught artist in Kent and have been using watercolours since I was little. Most of my works are watercolour portraits, and I do some full-body canvas work as well.
I look forward to submitting a piece for the Royal Academy's Young Artist's Show every year and am also participating in Art in June (look for the yellow bikes). Currently, I am working on my art GCSE, and on gradually infusing my work with the liveliness I see in my hobbies. So maybe you'll start to see more from what I love in the culinary, cultural and musical world; from travelling, cooking and reading to playing saxophone and climbing.
It was my grandma that fostered my love for watercolour. She bought me 3 watercolour and aquarelle sets (advancing in quality as I grew), watercolour paper with no end and a supply of her own work to inspire me [I love you grandma].
That means I've grown up around art and crafts; my parents are a huge support: we have done home projects like string pulling and flow art and frequent galleries and art workshops.
Plus, I've had a few eccentric art teachers who took a liking to me. My year 4 teacher even got me involved in an art competition (the ISA National Art competition).
I hope to see you around!
